Concert King leads benefit show

The recent spate of typhoons displaced hundreds of thousands of people and inundated more than 10,000 homes in Catanduanes.

Celebrities, leading music ministries, and the Catholic church are linking up to showcase musical talent and raise funds to help people severely affected by the spate of calamities that hit the country in the past weeks.

Silong: Tulong para sa Bubong is a virtual fundraising concert for the benefit of the people affected by the recent typhoons in Bato, Catanduanes. It is spearheaded by the Social Services and Development Ministry of the Cubao Diocese and Christ the King Parish in Project 7.

Among the performers are top balladeer Martin Nievera, premier choirs like Hangad Music Ministry, Ateneo Chamber Singers, Bukas Palad Music Ministry, and Kammerchoir, among others.

Proceeds from the concert aims will be used to rebuild the roofs of the houses in Bato, Catanduanes that were destroyed by the series of typhoons.

Fr. Ronnie Santos of CTK Proj 7 and the Cubao Diocese SSDM head says that “more than anything, these communities need help in overcoming the adverse impact of natural calamities in their livelihood.”
